Critical Dates to Obtain Program Benefits

Application for TAA Cash Benefits Due By
Monday, April 03, 2006

Applications for trade adjustment assistance can be made in person, by fax, or electronically at the Farm Service Agency (FSA) office where your records are kept. If you have had no previous contact with FSA, then apply for trade adjustment assistance at your nearest FSA county office. To apply, complete form FSA-229, Application for Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) for Individual Producers available here or at your local county FSA office and provide acceptable production documentation to verify production of the commodity specified on the application.

FSA Required Supporting Documentation Due By
Friday, September 29, 2006
  • Proof that technical assistance from the Extension Service has been completed;
  • Supporting documentation from a certified public accountant or attorney (or relevant document) and other supporting financial statements, balance sheets, and reports prepared for, or provided, to the IRS or another U.S. Government agency to prove that the net farm income is less than that for the latest year in which no adjustment assistance payment was received, and that your average adjusted gross income for the 3 preceding taxable years does not exceed $2.5 million.
